Jalgaon is a district situated in the northern part of Maharashtra, India. The main city is Jalgaon.

It shares its northern border with the state of Madhya Pradesh and is surrounded by Buldhana to the east, Jalna to the southeast, Aurangabad to the south, Nashik to the southwest, and Dhule to the west.

As of the 2011 census, the district has a population of 4,229,917.

Jalgaon is recognized for its substantial banana cultivation. The district’s main city, Jalgaon, is known for its gold jewelry trade and shopping. There’s a notable private medical college called Dr. Ulhas Patil Medical College. The government-run Government Medical College, Jalgaon, established in 2018, offers an MBBS course.

The Bhusawal Thermal Power Station is located near Bhusaval.

Several prominent Marathi-language newspapers like Deshdoot, Deshonnati, Divya Marathi, Lokmat, the Maharashtra Times, and Sakal are published in Jalgaon.
