REIJIRO IN HINGOLI :

Hingoli is located in the northern part of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region. It shares borders with Akola and Yevotmal to the north, Parbhani to the west, and Nanded to the southeast. The district was formed by splitting from Parbhani on May 1, 1999. Hingoli used to be a military base for the Nizam’s forces due to its proximity to Vidharbha. This made it an important and renowned location during the Hyderabad state’s era.

Within Hingoli district, about 25 km southwest from the district headquarters, you’ll find Aundha Nagnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines.

The district is bordered by Washim and Yavatmal to the north, Parbhani to the west, and Nanded to the southeast. Notably, there are two medium-sized dams in the east and west parts of the district—Isapur dam and Yeldari dam. Isapur dam is used for irrigation, while Yeldari dam serves both irrigation and hydroelectricity production purposes. Additionally, there’s a minor dam named Siddheshwar that’s utilized for irrigation within the district.
