Palghar is a town in Maharashtra, India, part of the Konkan division. It is a municipal council situated around 87 kilometers north of Mumbai, about 35 kilometers north of Virar, and approximately 24 kilometers west of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway at Manor.

The district offers various tourist attractions, including Arnala Fort, Vasai Fort, Gambhirgad, Kaldurg Fort, Kelwa Beach, and Kamandurg Fort. Palghar is known as an educational hub, attracting students from neighboring areas.

Palghar is renowned for its production of “chikoo” (Sapodilla), and they hold a special Chikoo festival dedicated to this fruit. Additionally, Jawhar Rajwada, often referred to as the ‘Mahabaleshwar of Palghar District,’ is a lesser-known hill station with beautiful valleys, dense forests, and a pleasant climate.
